I am a linux sysadmin that works for a web hosting company since 2009. I perform these tasks on a daily basis. I literally know it inside out. I can help you with the issue you are facing. Will help with changing the domain of your website. The steps depend on the setup, and if the old name is to be removed or to also keep the old one. If you will not move the site, and just add the new domain, we will modify the DNS records on the cpanel side to include new records and change the nameservers for the domain to point to the server where the site is hosted. Also, it depends if you will move the site it self as well - if that is the case, we will have to lower the TTL of the DNS records, and add the additional records on the new server to avoid any downtime for any users. Additionally, if you are using any CMS (like joomla or wordpress), we will have to do some additional changes in the database to allow it to use the new domain correctly.
