This project will develop a demand response management system that will interface with the building energy management system to facilitate load control and short-term load reduction at the consumer premises during system constraints or periods of maximum demand. In this way, the energy management system (EMS) will shed non-essential loads in buildings such as corridor lighting loads. This will help level the load on the grid and therefore raise the overall efficiency of the power grid. The demand response function can help keep the grid in balance when energy supplies get tight, or as more distribution generations like solar, wind, and micro-turbine come online.
Need to come up with a LabVIEW simulation which can be used to perform the function as mentioned above. Only need to focus in one or two demand response management system. Need to complete by February 2016 with regular updates.
The project has to be done in LabVIEW, so the person must know how to do programming in LabVIEW. Using a LabVIEW block diagram and a proper algorithm it could be done. Further details will be provided. Please feel to contact if you know how to do it.
