Write php code that takes data from mysql database and generates chart on the fly.
Background information: The assignment is related to price comparison charts. The purpose is to situate where price of the seller of a product is situated compared to the other prices of other sellers of the same product.
A line chart (no bar charts) that contains X axis and Y axis:
- X axis: date timeline from now till 1 year back,
- Y axis: 5 different lines
Y1: highest price
Y2: price of 10th best vendor
Y3: average price of 10 best vendors
Y4: price of vendor 1 under consideration
Y5: price of vendor 2 under consideration
(Y1 and Y2 form together a semi transparent zone in the graph)
On request an example can be sent (through PM) of how the chart should look like.
This is not an easy project. The challenge lies in the way the dates are stored in the database in combination with the fact we expect a a line chart. Each row in the product database looks like this:
seller, start date, end date, price
IMPORTANT TO WIN THIS PROJECT: Bidders must demonstrate their knowledge by showing us a working demo chart that uses OUR sample database. Your demo chart must show at least lines Y4 and Y5 on it. Please send PM to get access to our sample database.
Flex, flash or other languages not permitted
UPDATE 6 may:
-Many current prices of bidders are at the high end of the scale. Please understand the requirements and make your BEST offer.
-Service provider will be chosen at earliest by the end of the bid period
in regards to the chart specifications: the word 'vendor' is causing confusion: vendor = seller
