We have a bespoke WordPress plugin that uses Custom Post Types and Custom Taxonomies to store data. The plugin is finished and we now have to export data from a bespoke MySQL database in to the database that WordPress is using so that the new plugin can be used with the original data.
There is very little similarity between the two database structures. One is a bespoke database and the new one is a WordPress database.
There are approx 6,000 rows of data that need exporting and then importing to the WordPress install.
The data in the original database contains a reference to files on the original web server. When importing the old data you will need to link the files to the custom post type. The files are uniquely named and it is by this name that they are referenced. We need you to include in your code a function that will find the appropriate file in a temporary location and move it to the wordpress uploads folder from which it will be referenced by the plugin.
We require a modified version of this plugin [url removed, login to view] so that we can reuse the import functionality if needed. However if you have a better solution we are all ears!
You will need to provide us with the appropriate csv file so that we can import it to the live server without it affecting any live data.
The plugin uses WPAlchemy for the generation of metaboxes.
Any questions please ask.
