Metrologic MS5100 US Barcode Scanner VB.NET Class

We have anMetrologic MS5100 Barcode Scanner (USB). We are trying to integrate the barcode scanner into our inventory system, so that items scanned can be sold or in other ways selected on the screen, using the part number of the item to be selected. The inventory system is built using VB.NET and ASP.NET (and runs on IIS 5.1 & 6). The browsers used are standard MS I.E. 6.0 SP1. We therefore need a class developed that should have a simple interface to the rest of the application. It is assumed that the class will internally reference some assemblies etc. This is not a problem (but the developer will have to tell us which assemblies we need to reference in the application). We would like to the developer how they intend to solve cursor positioning issues. For example, when an item is scanned, if possible, if the application inventory application is already opened on the screen, the cursor should be positioned in the correct place, and then part number value should be entered into the correct textbox and submitted. This is necessary because, it should be possible for an operator to enter the same part number into the textbox and sell the item manually. We have been informed (reliably we hope) that it is possible to info the scanner which textbox, or other control should be activated and filled whenever something is scanned. It is also important to us that the developer make us aware of any other general issues which we should bear in mind when using barcoders. It is important that we be able to plug the class into our application and use it unmodified and with minimum fuss. Test harness applications must be developed as part of this project in order that we can test that the code actually works. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased.
