A complete program or a plug-in collection to existing program (Autocad or 3D Canvas). The ultimate goal is allow me to visualize how cables are routed inside a device and how long cables I need. It doesn't need to be very accurate (eg. cables don't have to look like true cables and devices can be plain boxes), but the GUI must be fast and/or easy to use.
A working solution that offers at least following things: 1. basic features 2. cable builder 3. measurement tools 4. drilling tools 1. If you make plug-ins (for Autocad or 3D Canvas Pro), these are deliverd by the host program and don't require anything from you. If you make a new program, it will have to include a feature for inserting/deleting/moving/scaling/grouping following objects to/in scene: - polygon - face - box - sphere - cylinder - torus - cone I wan't to be able to change parameters with mouse and as textual input. It will also need to read/write DXF-file format 2. Cable builder doesn't have to produce objects that actually look like the real cables, but it should be able to make multiple bends/etc along the way from point A to point B. If possible, it could create a sceleton about the cable so that the cable could be moved easily. I would also like to be able to add new bends to existing cable. 3. I require an ability to measure the cable lengths (total length and one segment length). I wan't also a feature to print (or export to Excel/Access) those lengths. It would be nice, if it could create a text to the scene regarding it. Even better would be, if it could also update the length in both directions. 4. I will require an ability to create a hole to an object with a numeric information. In other words, I would like the script to create an object and subtract it from the selected point in a selected object. It doesn't have to ask anything more than diameter or width & height if rectangular (both should be supported). A nice option would also be able to insert a desired length screw (a grouped cylinder with larger cylinder it other end will do fine) after the hole is created. Coder will keep the copyrights and can use/sell his solutions for other purposes as he wants after my payment. I do require final source code and permission to use it as I like to. I also want compiled files and instructions to use them.
