I'm new to Wordpress (I know html, but that's about it) and I've recently started helping a friend update their wordpress blog, although now I'm a bit stuck.
My friend has asked if I can put a page in so people can go to it and get a code for an image (their "chiclet" - is that what it's called?) and copy and paste it to their own site so it shows up. I thought it would be fairly simple like it is with html, but I'm coming up with some problems.
I've added the page, uploaded the chiclet, and written the code and they can all be found here:
[url removed, login to view]
However when I try and add the code to a different site by copy and pasting, it won't let me, and the image shows up as missing and the link won't work. It seems to be adding the domain of the site it's been pasted onto infront of the url (eg. If I was to add it to google, the url of the image seems to change to [url removed, login to view]”[url removed, login to view]” )
The code is all fine in the html - it doesn't change the copied and pasted section, it's just when I try to use it, it doesn't work.
Also, I'm not sure what version of wordpress it is, but it has a message that says it can be updated to version 2.7.1 so I'm guessing it's earlier than that.
I've been trying to figure this out all day and have finally given up and am willing to pay someone who knows what they're doing! I would also love to know what you did (if it's fairly basic) so I know for next time.
Also, If you're interested, I may also have some Wordpress work in the near future so let me know if you're interested.
My budget for this is very small as I'm just trying to help out a friend, although I'll be posting a larger project in the near future to do with setting up a wordpress theme from a photoshop image which I'll create, so if you win this at a small price, you'll definately be first choice at this next project if you're interested!
I hope this has all made sense - if not just let me know and I can try to clear it up.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much!
