202946 Joomla Multi-site CMS Tool

Our goal is to create a CMS platform utilizing Joomla that will enable us to create and manage multiple websites. We would like to work with a programmer that has extensive experience with Joomla customization. This project will consist of multiple phases, and our hope is to find the right programmer the first time and have that programmer drive this project forward. For this initial phase, we have a few functionalities we would like to see: 1) Manage/distribute content being pulled from our database across multiple websites 2) Allow content submitted through the CMS platform to be sent to our database so that we can distribute that content throughout the other websites. 3) Allow us to switch the template for any given website (it's important to note we'll use the same "template" or website structure but just make some subtle changes noted further down) Here's some more details about each the functionalities: Manage/Distribute content being pulled form our database across multiple websites We will work with you to create a simple template for the website(s). The template will consist of 5 pages (index, about us, services, news, contact). We already have a very good idea of what the site will look like, so we anticipate this portion of the project being completed quickly. For this site, it will consist primarily of the following basic things: 1) Images - many images will be common (same in all domains), but some will be unique to a site. for these unique images, we will create/store them, we just need your help scripting the files to know which image to pull for which website. 2) Unique Content - the content for the sites will be pulled from two places. one database we have already created and the content is already in there, we just need you to call the data correctly; the rest of the content will be stored in another database which we will ask you to help us structure. because the site(s) will only be 5 pages, we will just need to store a few paragraphs for each page. once again, we will create/upload the content, we just need your help setting up the structure for how the content is stored and calling the data so that the right content is pulled for each website. 3) Form - on each of our sites, we will have a simple form in which people can submit their information; for this portion of the site, we will want to be able to have multiple forms to choose from, so that we can select the appropriate form for any given website. in other words, all of the forms will have the exact same structure/fields, but each will have slightly different values for some of the fields. it's important to note, we do not need you to create the process forms or validation scripts for these forms. that has already been done, so what we're looking for from you in this part is to get all of our forms into this cms tool, so that we can select the form to display. Send content submitted through the CMS tool to our database so that it can be distributed to the other websites powered by this platform We will want our content writers to be able to login and submit new versions of content for the site and have that content be sent to our database so that we can distribute to the other sites. This should be pretty straightforward, but the idea is that we be able to submit content for both templates and have that content stored in the appropriate place so that it can be re-distributed throughout the other sites. Allow us to "switch templates" for any of the websites For the portion of the project, our goal is to be able to switch the template for any given site. By this we mean we want to be able to select one of 2 templates, and have it display the data/content assigned to that template. This sounds a bit tricky, but really, the templates will be virtually identical, just with a few changes. So for each template, the content structure, placement on the site will remain the same, but the content will be slightly different. So we will want to be able to select a template and have it display the content for that template, but should the site's purpose change, we will want to be able to select the other template and have it display the appropriate content for the other template. Who we are looking for: We are looking for a programmer/team of programmers that have extensive experience with joomla customization. We will work closely with you to help push this project forward, and expect you to be able to drive this project and offer insights into the best way to accomplish our goals. We work within google docs, an online collaborative document, and will manage the project from there. It's important that you have very strong communication skills and be willing to work closely with us to provide a quick, effective solution. By this we don't mean that your english has to be perfect, but that you be willing to keep up posted on your progress and that you respond promptly to questions/requests. This project will have several other phases, so we are looking for the programmer/team that will be able to push this project forward on a longer term basis, so hopefully we find the right person the first time around. Before beginning work, we would like to be able to speak with some of your references, and we can happily provide you with references from offshore programmers we work with. Once we have settled on a price and a time line for completion, we would like to set-up a phased payment, so that we pay you upon completion of certain milestones of the project. We have extensive experience working with offshore programmers, and will work hard to make sure you have everything you need to complete this project quickly. We will be extremely clear with our requests, and will provide as much detail and clarification as necessary to make sure you understand what we're requesting of you.
