I would like a graphic redesign for http://www.jakesjokes.com. This project includes graphics, template integration (it's a header/content/footer setup), and hopefully a little bit of basic knowledge of PHP (not really required, other than for the sake of moving current code to new template)
Site is currently laid out as such:
Header consists of top portion and left sidebar (with the beginning of the table that makes up the content section)
Content area will be basically left alone. (I prefer a white background, and nearly everything in here is generated dynamically anyway.)
Footer consits of the "end table" part of the content area, the right sidebar (ads, etc) and everything at the bottom of the pages.
The site's various sections are somewhat individualized, as it was put together piecemeal. That is, the jokes run on one script, the funny pictures run on another script, the games are on a whole different subdomain, etc. Each section uses its own version of the header and footer, so several new pages will need to be created.
Note that several portions of the site have dynamic meta tags (they change based on the content of the page), and these need to remain intact.
I do not accept bids from those who do not produce a mockup(s) specific for my site. In other words, if you're just going to post a link to your portfolio, please do not bother. I want someone who takes the time to do a quick Photoshop of an idea or two that actually applies to my site.
A good example would be a 600x400 (watermarked is fine) fake front page.
A bad example would be: "We are very much good at design but cannot splel werdz or follow your instructions, so here is the link to the portfolio with nothing at all specific to your needs."
The site is the largest joke site on the web, but we simply don't have the "look" that the other humor sites have. Call me a sellout, but I want to look like everybody else. Nicer of course, but the same concept...
Maybe eliminate the left navbar (much of which changes from section to section) and place all of the important links in a fancy (but fast loading and search engine friendly) DHTML menu at the top.
If we go with a sidebar, maybe have one with some nice graphics to separate the various sections.
Bid away. :)
