I have a website on a host with only Telnet/SSH/FTP access - no control panel. I didnt set up the website so I need help. The site host is taking my server offline in the next 2 weeks, yet he wants the server down by Friday 7/6/12 (6 days).
I'm only really interested in transferring the forum portion of the website to a new host which I already have available.
The new host is [url removed, login to view] "Shared Plus" hosting. I chose sitegrounds because they advertised FUDforum hosting if IO needed it.
FUDForum is the current forum software.
FUDForum System Configuration of current forum:
PHP built On: Linux [url removed, login to view] 220.127.116.11-rscloud #8 SMP Mon Sep 20 15:54:33 UTC 2010 x86_64
Database Version: 5.0.51a-24+lenny5
PHP Version: 4.4.4-loc2
Web Server: Apache/2.2.9 (Debian) PHP/4.4.4-loc2
WebServer to PHP interface: apache2handler
WebServer User/Group: 33 / 33
Forum Version: 2.7.6
I don't have passwords or locations for databases so someone would probably have to track them down.
I have root user/pass info for the current site accessed via telnet/ssh and info for FTP access.
The site host backed up my main website, the forums and the sql databases so I have those available.
The site host is very busy and takes some time to reply to requests so the project could go longer than a week if you have any questions, yet actual work time on the transfer process should probably take less than 5 hours.
I also don't care what software the new forum uses as long as forum users, forum content, and forum permissions transfer over exactly as-is.
