A year ago I paid a large sum of money upfront to a programmer to merge my existing [url removed, login to view] 2.3.4 with the new SocialEngine white-label social networking package I purchased. With thousands of members already signed up with the [url removed, login to view] forums, and with hundreds of thousands of forum posts, it was critical that the integration ensured a seamless login authentication between the SocialEngine and [url removed, login to view] platforms.
The registrations and login process was designed to be handled by SocialEngine, with the new user accounts and info being created automatically (for login purposes) within the [url removed, login to view] database. All profiles were designed to be used by SocialEngine, so the forum code was modified to convert the [url removed, login to view] member profile url into the corresponding SocialEngine member profile url, and bring the user to the new socialengine profile url. Account settings such as email options/privacy settings were all designed to be handled by SocialEngine. The purpose of the integration was to bring in the SocialEngine social networking features which were not available within [url removed, login to view] at the time. So the project was designed to only use the forum software for forums...that's it. All else to be handled/managed from within the new SocialEngine.
After working out the immediate bugs in the login script, most login issues were resolved. However, since the project was completed a year ago, I do still have a small number of users complaining that every time they are logged in to their SocialEngine accounts and then try to post messages in the [url removed, login to view] Forums, they get logged out. The programmer I originally hired has not been able to resolve the issue 100%. Also their lack of follow-up and support has been very frustrating and disappointing. Recently I upgraded the SocialEngine software to 3.20 and since then I have had a lot more users complaining that they are getting logged out when switching to the forums from the SocialEngine part of the site.
My proposal is this: I cannot rely on the original programmer any longer, and I would like to find someone else to troubleshoot and fix this issue, and to also serve as my future programmer for this specific needs. I have a list of files that the programmer originally modified (I am hoping I have all). This task would be to fix what is not working in the existing code, or create your own (but then having to undo previous modficiations made also).
If the relationship works well I would love to maintain an ongoing relationship for future projects (I always seem to have new ones, big/small). If you are interested please let me know and I will send you my site's url so you can check it out firsthand before bidding/messaging. Anyone interested MUST have highly experienced SocialEngine + [url removed, login to view] programming knowledge and experience, as well as login authentication experience. Only reasonable bids will be accepted. Thank you.
