We have a webpage consisting of two sections - an one that searches a URL table (the "I Want" section) and one that updates it. It can be seen here:
[url removed, login to view]
The first section contains a textbox for input of a "catch-phrase" (eg. "to register a domain name", "funny videos", "to learn Japanese" etc), a GO button and a horizontal scroller showing latest phrase entries.
When the user types a phrase into the "I want" textbox, upon hitting the GO button, that phrase is looked up in a table of stored phrases and associated URLs and, if found, that URL is opened in a new window. If the phrase is not found, it is logged in the table as requiring an associated URL and a message should appear stating "Sorry - no results for this yet - but we have logged your request - please check later !".
The URL's and associated phrases are collected in the "I can offer" section, which contains two input text boxes, one for the catch phrase and another for the associated URL.
The table is updated upon successful submission [url removed, login to view] the phrase has not already been taken ("taken" means matches one from the table exactly).
Upon leaving the "I can offer" input box (ie clicking in the URL text box), the appropriate "taken" or "available" indicator should display. If taken, focus remains in phrase text box, otherwise it goes to the URL text box. Successful submission requires availability of phrase and valid URL. Invalid URL ie. leading to a 404 Page Not Found error, returns user focus to URL input box. There should be a 255 character limit on all fields and phrase fields must be case sensitive.
Latest entries shown in the marquee should be underlined and clickable (ie link to their associated URLs), unless they require URLs in which case, they appear as non-underlined and if clicked, that catch phrase is automatically entered into the "I can offer" text box and focus placed in the URL input text box.
Successful submission of phrases finally requires payment of $[url removed, login to view], made via PayPal (we have the account organised).
The single page template has been made with SiteSpinner (ims source file) and we would like the needed script to be inserted into this source file so we can continue to enhance the appearance. Access to an SQL database can be provided.
We will supply the ims source file and a list of preliminary phrases and URLs to start the table off with, along with details of the SQL Database and PayPal account.
