Hi Lancers!
I don't know if this is the best way to go about this project, but I need some help with some curl/scraping software!
I would prefer to see this running online (so that if I turn off my local machine everything is still being updated).
I am looking for a script that will create new word press blogs on my hosting...
Here's what it needs to do:
1. register a domain I choose and change the DNS to my server (I use [login to view URL], and it will pay with my paypal)
2. log into my hosting (just host) and associate the domain with the hosting and the new folder (which will just be the domain name, it's created automatically when 'linked' to the hosting).
3. set up a word press blog with 3 standard pages (about me, contact me, and privacy policy)
4. install 3 plugins and theme
5. post the first article and ping
6. delay about a day and post next article and ping
7. wait another day then post next and ping
8. wait about a week and post final article and ping
9. wait another 2 days and update the blog with my banners and affiliate links.
Like I said, I don't know if curl is the best way to do this (if you have a better way, I'm open)...but here's how I envision this thing working:
I would run it with a combination of mysql, cron, php and curl.
I'll have an online admin panel, with a basic form where I will manually enter the 'key ingredients' for the blog such as:
- domain
- articles
- keywords
- site title
- site 'tag line'
- site description
- start date (to know when the next post is due)
...then post all that info to a mysql database, then just run a cron job twice a day to check if there is anything that needs to be posted.
I CAN SET UP THE SECURE ADMIN PANEL, THE FORM & SQL, I know enough about php and sql to make this happen, I can even set up the CRON to run your script...
I just don't know much about curl, so that's what I need from you...and actually I don't even know if using curl to submit payments is safe - could you let me know!? If that part has to be manual, so be it...I'd just like to automate as much of this as possible.
I would have a 'progress' field (and possibly even a next action date) for each blog that I post, so your script would know for example "today I need to make the 3rd post" and then it would update that/those fields once successfully posted.
I hope that's detailed enough...I think this is straight forward enough, I just don't know enough about curl to make it happen, and I don't have the time/desire to learn it right now.
Thanks!
