18284 Document management shareware

We need help to organize a large number of files into storage on our server. The files should not be put into a database, but as real files in real folders. I believe that it exist a shareware that we could use. The documents and document sets are word-documents, Indesign documents with images and CAD-drawings with component files. User management An administrator can create users who have access to different documents for download or upload in different groups. Lock during modification and diary When a document is downloaded, it should be possible to lock it for other users until a modified version is uploaded. Each document is followed by a diary where changes can be recorded both automatically “downloaded by…” and by the user “I changed…” Approval process The system should also have a process for improvement of documents. A document uploaded by a user to a certain area must be approved by a specified user before it is public available. Usually the document set consists of an original document in Indesign with a number of images in a folder, and then a pdf-document. This situation needs to be handled so that the set in whole is handled in this process. Administration Lists of locked document sets under modification, of recently modified documents, of documents that need to be approved and by whom. To make a full specification would be complex, above is the most important components. I would like to have a suggestion on a shareware system to use or a commercial system that could be bought and adapted. Please bid on both purchase of such system and adapting the system to our needs. Include in the bid the link to the system you propose and documentation or case study.
