We have two databases - One is a Firebird database in Fastbook Online and a new one designed in MySQL. Both databases are for the same purpose - "Storing calendar of events information". We need data ported from the old Fastbook Online database to the new MySQL Database. The fields in the tables of the database may not be the same in both databases. Fastbook may actually be using multiple tables in the fdb database to store the information of the calendar (We are not sure and that will be upto you to find out). We need you to write a script which will pick up relevant data from one or more tables from the Firebird database ( which is accessible through an FTP authentication, Massage the data to become compatible to the destination MySQL Database tables and feed the data to the MySQL Database - located on a cPanel enabled web hosting server) Just to clarify again, since we will continue to use both the databases, and data flow in the future is required to be as follows : Our staff member enters data into Firebird database (through Fastbook Online) --- Your script will port this data to MysQL Database on a website ---- Data becomes visible on PHP pages extracting data from the database. We need that the MySQL database recieves nightly feeds from the Fastbook Online data and becomes in-sync with that. The database used inside Fastbook online is probably Firebird. An we understand there are ready tools for the porting of the data. You can feel free to use any of these. What we will need from you is to ensure : 1. Data gets ported with integrity - No garbage data gets generated or misported. 2. The PHP pages(which is a pretty standard calendar script) are able to view the data in the MySQL Database. Along with your bid, please answer the following question : 1. What related experience do you have to handle this successfully. 2. Provde us similar examples/description of technology ypou would use to solve this problem for us. Thanks, Manish.
