OSCommerce: Implementation of contributions & fixing glitches

We have a heavily modified OScommerce site which needs some work to bring to launch-ready status. You can see it at [login to view URL] we're using a shared server at [login to view URL] ## Deliverables 1. account management broken needs fixing - On the front end, when a customer tries to login (by clicking 'members' at top of screen) the following error occurs: **"1054 - Unknown column 's.public_flag' in 'where clause'**" 2. Fix the "..." glitch - On front end, there's a problem with the brief description next to the product thumbnail where the hyperlinked "..." is a broken link. Looks like it's simply failing to generate a complete URL string so it should hopefully be an easy fix 3. Remove category text from below the category thumbs - Since we'll be putting the category name in the thumbnail image, there's no need to have the pink-red text below it. 4. Change "Specials" to "Community" in site header - link to [login to view URL] 5. Add basic product sorting to front end 6. Show MSRP and savings on product page (and, if possible, on category page). We also would like the price to be more evident on the products page (it's currently tiny and in the top right corner) 7. Enable "customer's who purchased XXX also purchased YYY" at bottom of product screen 8. Integrate the phpBB and oscommerce plugin - this contribution automatically creates customers a profile on the community bulletin board. Ensure the customers get an email letting them know their login and how to get to the community section. 9. Make a product page's title is the same as the product name on that page (for SEO purposes). Also automatically embed the product name into the page's meta data. 10. Change order numbers so that we're starting with at least 5-6 digits 11. Setup US & CANADIAN currencies **NOTE: you probs already are aware of this.... but be CAREFUL when messing with currencies cause it's very easy to globally re-price the entire site. ALSO, we're keeping a 1:1 ratio between US and CAD dollars SEE BOTTOM PARAGRAPH FOR WHY** HISTORY: the currency drop-down was not originally enabled in the template, I managed to replace the 'language' box with the current price drop-down box. Major problem right now is that the currency choice does not stay chosen during navigation and shopping... i believe it keeps reverting back to US dollars** 12. Auto-select currency based on IP. Default to US Dollars if unable to determine. ([login to view URL]) 13. Setup checkout so that necessary CC info is captured and allows us to manually key-in transaction from our brick and mortar location at a later time. THE BIG PICTURE: We have struggled with determining how to best handle the issue of currency and transaction processing in our 'international' situation. By keeping canadian and us dollar prices equal, it allows us to cover the import costs when shipping to US customers. For the sake of a timely launch, we're going to avoid 'live' processing for the first few weeks...then once we establish some volume, we'll post another bid request for you to set it up. What we're going to have to do is setup TWO processors...one for Canadian-dollar transactions and one for US-dollar transactions. I've found some mods which look like they're able to route transactions to appropriate processor based on the currency selected. So... i guess just keep this in mind when working on the above items.
