Description
We are a freelance writing company. Though we are a new startup, we already find that we must have the ability to properly manage employees/contractors. We call them employees, but they will in fact be contractors.
The employee must be able to download a zip file that we send them, which will contain their project, which we uploaded for them. This can perhaps be handled through the ticket system. The ticket system is not really for support, but as a reliable way of communicating because email is so unreliable these days.

After the employee completes their project, they upload the work, which we then download and check for accuracy. Once their work has been approved, then we need to be able to login, and credit their earnings with the amount they earned on the project. When they have been paid their earnings for the two week period, then the amount due to them would zero out of their earnings, but they should be able to view the history perhaps as an un-editable archive, or report. Basically it would work perhaps very much like an affiliate system, only they will not have links to bother with, only uploading and downloading the projects. I picture in my mind, perhaps a freelance system, except admin is the only buyer, and there is no bidding process. We simply assign the work, they complete it, and we credit their “account?? with a sum based on the payout for that project. Hope this is not too confusing. FUNCTIONS: 1. Admin Area a. Complete employee management, including the fact that they can only be registered by an admin and the account can only be removed by an admin. The reason being we must keep records for a certain length of time in the US. b. Electronic W9 for Internal Revenue Service. I have to look up local rules, but it is possible I believe to make this a simple for that they can submit through the system. It would only be for US residents, so it would not be required to fill it in, and we would have to “manually?? ensure compliance from US residents by holding back payment until it has been done. c. There must be a method of locking an individual out if they no longer write for us, without having to delete the account. Password changing will not work because it must also have a password retrieval function. d. The ability to have multiple administrators e. This system must be modular to allow for easy add-on of new features in the future. f. Credit or debit earnings g. Set payout methods available which are presently only Paypal and check 2. Employee Interface a. Employee can only see his or her information b. Employee can update his or her information, and chosen pay method such as check or Paypal. The tax ID number is permanent however. c. New people CANNOT REGISTER. Only an admin can enter a new user into the system. d. Password retrieval function e. View current earnings, and a history of earnings already paid. f. Ability to choose how they want to be paid 3. Ticket System a. Just a basic system to message back and forth with admin and not other users. There should also be the ability to add an attachment or perhaps even multiple attachments. b. The attachments can be a zip file or a document (like word or wordpad), or an image 4. News Function a. The ability to add a message that all employees will see when they login. This message can be changed or updated in the admin area, with the abilities to add multiple messages to this. Perhaps they show up in the employee interface as a link? The entire system should be built in a modular fashion to allow for easy add-ons later on down the line. Once I receive some bids to get an idea of what this system will cost, we may make adjustments to the features to bring it more in line with the budget.
