We are a small UK based website fashion store.
We require someone with an advanced knowledge of photoshop to retouch and edit apparel, accessory and model photos.
The most important thing is colour balancing and correction of the digital photos, followed by retouching of photos to enhance facial features (e.g. whitening teeth, clearing eyes, removing blemishes and shadows etc.) and then a professional cut-out of the image onto a transparent canvas.
Currently we utilise the curves function followed by shadow, mid and highlight functions to get the contrast and colour correction right and then photo retouching and finally cut out. Multiple layers are used to blend in retouches.
The originals would be emailed to you - so you will need broadband and a large inbox!
The photographs will be in batches of 20, and we would hope for a fast turnaround. We are adding products every week, so we would hope to develop an ongoing relationship.
You can view our current photographs on [url removed, login to view], and I have attached a before and after version of a product shot to show you where we are. You should be expert enough to equal our efforts, but ideally be able to better them!
The deliverables are PSD's and Jpegs delivered by email - or placed on FTP location for download - in a PC format - don't mind if you use a Mac, but please no Stuffit archives - they always screw up!
- Touch up photos, paying particular attention to colour balance. There should be no glaring blemishes. Lips, teeth and eyes (where relevant) should receive *subtle* enhancement and hair should be smooth and not jagged or pixelated
- Cut out photos - completely remove the background and ensure there isn't any jagged transition.
- Provide highest possible resolution PSD file with all additional layers/ masks included.
- Provide one large JPEG, full body shot, around 70% compression and approx 40K or less file size, no larger than 525px in height or width, on white background, cropped to eliminate excess white space - following the sample guide or website for best practice.
- Provide one small JPEG.
For the head on shot, this should be 250px in width, and as close to 300px in height as possible without losing significant detail - the photo can be cropped further to assist, such as by cutting out legs if product is a T-shirt - common sense should be your guide! 70% compression and around 20K.
For additional shots, such as side or back views of the same product, the maximum size is 100px x 100px, compression should be around 50% and file size [url removed, login to view] to 3K.
Please use the website at [url removed, login to view] to familiarise yourself with our standard photograph formats.
The PSD files may be used at a later date for a print catalogue, so they must remain at high resolution. All editing should be done in high res.
We use Adobe Photoshop on XP - so all deliverables above should be compatible.
If you are on a Mac, please ensure that all the deliverables are delivered on a format that works on a PC!
