I need some general advice about setting up a proxy server. I know very little about the process, but here's what I require: I want to setup an "anonymous proxy server" with private access. When a user connects to the proxy server from the web (via their web browser), they will be presented with a simple login page where they enter a password. From that point they will be able to surf the web normally through the proxy. However, every 30 pages or so they will see a page that says "you are still using a proxy server, click here to continue to the page you requested". I want the visitor to be able to surf both http and https pages. So I need some guidance as to what steps I need to take to get this done. For example, what do I need to look for in a server/hosting, and what needs to be done on the server to create the proxy feature (which software needs to be installed or is proxy just a configuration), etc. I suppose my only preference is that it be on a Linux/Unix server. Thanks for reading!
