Hi! First, I want to start out by saying, I'm completely new to the league site developing scheme. I want to begin a Gaming League website called, xXTeam RNK Gaming League. I want to replicate the database functions of a larger gaming league www.caleague.com. They use an nfl style format where there is a preseason, a regular season, playoffs, culminating in an eventual champion. If you go to their site, you see they have a pull down for DIVSIONS. These are the different games they support. I will need this function as the number of xbox and pc games we support will grow over time. The section I want to completely duplicate and have available to my website is the DIVISION called Battlefield 1942 OPEN.
They have the site set up so you must sign in to see the JOIN/LEAVE a team function. The other links you can access without signing in. So, I want to have that exact functionality (or something very close to it) that is integrated into my website.
I'm sorry I probably said the same thing three times, but I'm not sure you'll understand what [url removed, login to view] is doing functionally. Team captains sign a team up, and then players are able to sign onto that team once they have been given the password to do so. The players edit their profile, and an important field is the GUID identifier that helps prevent "ringers" or players playing for multiple teams. The database also has a results page, a schedule page, etc, as you can see from their site. Some of those functions do look like they're pulled from established game background script managers.
This is what I want integrated into my website. I hardly have any experience with handling or anything to do with these leagues.
I'm really hoping to get started on this league, atleast before the end of October 05.
