I have a script that scrapes the Clickbank Marketplace and parses the results into mysql. The script then creates output in directory form, allowing users to browse or search a directory of Clickbank products. Anyone familiar with Clickbank will know that scripts like this are quite common. I need the scraping part of the script converted so, instead of scraping results from Clickbank pages, it will take them instead from an XML file that Clickbank now publishes daily. I will download the updated XML file from Clickbank and upload it to my web directory. Then, when I run the script that updates the database, it will take results from the XML file and parse them into MySQL using the same fields that already exist. The output side of the script will remain unchanged. The only change will be that the data will be parsed from Clickbank's downloadable XML file instead of scraped from Clickbank pages. Keep in mind that everything else with this script is already in place. Only the source from which the data is taken will change. This project should be easy for anyone experienced with dumping data from XML to MySQL.
