form for changing order of listing items ( PHP/MySQL)

The context : We have a listing of jobseekers (in PHP/MySQL) from an ATS (Aplicant Tracking System), that displays the more interesting jobseekers, then the "potential" ones, etc..and at the end, the "rejected" jobseekers/aplicants. And each category of applicant is sorted by date decreasing. * * * * * TODO : * listing of applicants from our mysql database sorted in importance/date decreasing order : 2h * jquery tabs (displayed and sorted according to database definition) : 2h * multi-edit and save form : 2h TOTAL : 6 hours * * * * * * Our need : We need to put the "best" candidates of each category at the top of their category. What has to be coded : We need a "multi-edit lines" form allowing to change the order of items in a listing, with typing "1", "2", "3" in textfields in each line, for putting these lines at the top of the listing (of their category more precisely) By default our current listing is sorted by date decreasing, but we want to put first "important" items at the top of the listing, and then sort by "date desc" Each "category" of aplicant will be displayed in a jquery tab, listing of categories are retrieved from the database.
