-in addition to what service sidekick offers:
-we need to be able to have work tickets ie. each work order will have multiple work tickets (one ticket per day)(see attached scan)
-the work tickets will have items, Purchase Orders and time entered on them.
-the user should be notified of un-ticketed Purchase Orders when a Work Ticket is entered.
-the work tickets can either be printed from the software with an automatic sequence number or entered with a specific number.
-time needs to be automatically updated to the quickbooks time sheet
-Purchase order items need to be assigned to jobs(work orders) with the ability to set a default when entering a purchase order so we don't have to set it on every item.
-Purchase orders need to also work to purchase into inventory ie. inventory asset account
-purchase orders and bills need to sychronize to quickbooks
-when orders are received they should be able to be received with or without the bill.
-when the bill is entered the item costs should be automatically updated.
-item prices may be either fixed, based on a fixed markup from cost or based on.
-invoicing may be done from quickbooks(auto generated from the software) or from the software and synchronized to quickbooks
-one invoice per work order or work orders may be progress billed at month end.
-one invoice may contain entries from multiple work tickets but no individual item pricing should be shown(see invoice attachment).
-invoices should contain a single entry for a Purchase order and the markup should be automatic or the price may be set on the purchase order.(see invoice attachment)
-we currently use sugarcrm for our contacts (it would be nice to be able to import or synchronize the customers to sugarcrm (not all the contacts in sugarcrm are customers we could just set the type in sugarcrm to customer?(or add funcionality for accounts and contacts that are not customers)
-the inventory items may either use the quickbooks items or a separate database may be used.
-form entry sequence is important to me ie. no forms where we enter data, click on field, enter, click, enter, click I do not like to have to change back and forth from the mouse to the keyboard to often.
-the synchronization to QuickBooks should be automatic and instantaneous.
-the calendaring, scheduling, and dispatch is not needed at this time.
-(important) entry of items on Work Tickets and Purchase Orders need to be done with a suggest box similar to google suggest. The query should look in both the item number and description. Wild cards should automatically be placed in front and after the search text as well as in the spaces.
-code needs to be well written and documented so that we can add to an modify it later.
