Holiday caravan park

Holiday Caravan Park CHP provides accommodation and some facilities large groups who can access to different activities and entertainment. CHP also provides functional rooms for weddings, parties, and events. Holidaymakers can book their holidays of any length. Clients can make their booking by telephone or visit the CHP whilst on resort. There are various specifications for caravans and clients can book one or more caravans of different specification. Extra caravan equipment can be booked in advance (It depends of the caravan specification) e.g. sun lounge. Various function rooms can also be booked which can be arranged in different layouts. Meals can be served in some of them and set menus are offered too . 1 Recording bookings Prospective holidaymakers submit booking requests on a booking form in the style of Appendix 1, though of course they are usually hand-written. Those requesting bookings can continue on extra pages if they need more space. The park manager wishes to be able to enter the details of each booking into a database via a simple forms-based interface. She wants the system to warn her if the booking request does not conform to the holiday park rules, for instance about the minimum length of stay and about equipment booking, as given in the inventory notes, or if any item requested is unavailable. In the case of unavailability, she would like the system to suggest suitable alternatives, in the hope that the potential client is not lost. 2 Printing invoices Once the booking, with any necessary amendments agreed by the client, has been confirmed, the manager wants the system to calculate the cost of items on the booking and the total cost of the holiday and print an invoice in the style of Appendix 2 for despatch to the client. The park manager is understandably nervous about using the new computer system for financial information such as payment details, and she has decided to continue her present manual system for this part of the business.

## Deliverables

Project tasks • Design and implement a database for the Happy Families holiday caravan park • Enable a valid booking to be input and its details stored in the database. For the purposes of performance at Third Class Honours level, the student may assume every item requested on the booking form is always available. A valid booking is one which conforms to the booking rules of the caravan park. 6 - 2 • Display bookings made for any given caravan, function room or item of equipment on the caravan park inventory. • Check the availability of each item on a valid booking, suggesting alternatives for any unavailable items. For this task, that should reduce the number of each item that the caravan park offers, to facilitate testing. • Once the booking, amended as necessary for any non-available items, has been accepted by the client, calculate the cost of the booking and display the invoice.

The design has been carried out. All the tables have been created in oracle(toad),however, it needs to be connected to Netbeans IDE 5.5. will be provided.
