this project will involve creating a subscription-based website for writers where they can plan, write, print, and share their scripts online.
the site will have a professional look about it, featuring a bold yet simple interface. some use of flash would help to achieve the look i want. however, the idea is to create a site which can be easily maintained and easily upgraded. i do not intend to update it with news etc every day or even week so it will need to be as automated as possible.
it is split into 4 sections-
i)there will be a front-end which will feature about, and some news.
ii)there is to be an accounts section where members are able to view subscription information.
iii)the tools section forms a major part of the site as it will have various programs available online. one of the main tools would be a texteditor specially designed for scriptwriting.
iv)finally a collection of forums (or genres) which will allow scripts to be shared and also rated, similar to the rating system used in ebay. a chat room system would also be wanted.
each section needs to be structured so that it can be easily modified. for instance, the tools section is expected to be upgraded from time-to-time so maybe these can be formed as modules?
in addition another very important feature of the site will allow the writer to send their script to the printers so some kind of interface to allow me to input printers details (address etc) will be required.
there is more about this project saved in 2 pdf's in the zip file attached. these are simple guidelines which i created when discussing the project with a programmer who was unable to complete it...
good luck and thx!
