We have an existing Flash Chat application built into our dating site, it pops up as a floating window over the flash site. It communicates with the database (updates chat histories, online presence, adds/removes user blocks/favorites) and the site itself (loads user profile on the site) and works through a flash communicaiton server (currently Influxis). I'd like to move this to the desktop utilizing one of the many flash-desktop application devleopment tools so we can re-use the code. This way the user would first have to download the chat app before chatting and then could chat with anyone logged into the site OR anyone logged on to their own downloaded chat (any registered members) as well as receive alerts about site activity (e.g. User of TypeX just joined! and have the option then of launching site/visiting the record). It handled multiple concurrent chats and is set (though not critical) to handle video chats. It also handled word filtering which is set on a user-to-user basis. The app is currently not resizeable though it should be. Goal would be to use the current app, modify as needed for the flash-desktop application, create an .ex and download script (agree to terms, download now, terms of service, etc.). As with Yahoo it should go in tray, flash if user is 'paged', do slide up alerts, etc. Experience with FlashCom a must, desktop/downloadable apps and flash/desktop strongly preferred.
