Here is what I am thinking for displaying visit detail trends…
From the visit detail page, you support the selection of a specific observation in the current list. By highlighting / selecting this observation, the user does two things…
They identify which observation they want to trend (including any related observations which are noted in the datamodel)
They also need to identify the beginning date they are interested in.
we could allow them to select a beginning date and you would display the data tabular from that date to the most current date.
**_Here is your major decision point:_** do we allow selection of multiple items and then a GO button, or do we support only a single observation ( with any related items derived from the data base)? Double click and go? This depends on your toolbox and how clunky things would get. I want this to be foolproof because the users here are doctors and nurses and very little training will be available, if any.
Here is a summary….
identifying the Observations that lend themselves to trend analysis (NUMERIC only?)
Identifying the date range or alternatively the most recent visits (i.e last 10 visits?)
displaying the data tabularly, then graph selected observations (check boxes?)
