Requirements 1. Research Report detailing supporting evidence of why Print Media organizations should have an Internet/Web presence (ie. What advantages could Print Media organisations have by moving from a “bricks and mortar?? company model to an Internet/Web company model). (Equivalent to 1000 words ie. not including images and diagrams) 2. Mini Project Plan detailing resources and timings needed to complete the transformation of a specific (could be fictional) Print Media organization from a “bricks and mortar?? establishment into a web centric organisation. This plan should detail logistics, processes, tasks etc. to deliver the project on time and on budget. (Equivalent to 2000 words ie. not including images and diagrams) The documents above must each follow the criteria below •HTML format readable using Internet Explorer 6.0 or greater. •Statistics and references should be used to back up statements made. •References should be done using the APA and the Numbered Notes systems. Just listing references at the end of the documents is not acceptable and a mark of zero will be applied for the appropriate "Validity" section if this is attempted. You will need to use the Numbered notes system throughout your report (ie. identify the relationship of the actual reference at a particular position within the report to the reference listed at the end of the report). •The numbered notes should link to the actual reference at the end of the current document using the tags and HREF and NAME attributes (ie. allow the marker to quickly follow a Numbered note to the relevant reference). •Any URL references should link to the actual URL by using the tag and the HREF attribute (ie. allow the marker to follow a URL). •More then 5 references must be used per document to ascertain a non-subjective viewpoint. ## Deliverables 1. Research Report Research Print Media business models using publicly available resources such as Books, Papers, Conferences, Internet, etc. and state the attributes necessary for an effective Web based Print Media application. These attributes should then be expanded to justify what methods, tools and technologies should be implemented. Attributes of the Print Media business models that need to be covered in this report are: •Services Provided for both internal (eg. internal processes within the organization etc.) and external (eg. Clients and General Public etc.) •Communication Channels (eg. internal and external etc.) •Information Storage and Retrieval (eg. document repository etc.) •Quality Assurance (eg. procedures to ensure the quality of services provided etc.) •General Business Performed (eg. Logistics of running this type of business etc.) •Organisational Structure (eg. departments and relationships between job roles etc.) •Resources Required (eg. Human, Computers etc.) 2. Mini Project Plan Report You are required to PLAN the development of a Web based application that can suit a “bricks and mortar?? Print Media organisation’s (could be fictional) needs (ie. existing business processes and infrastructure needs) in order to transformed it into an Internet/Web based organisation. The following information must be reported in the Mini Project Plan Report Statement of Purpose: Describe the Print Media organisation and what services and functionality it currently provides and wishes to provide in the new Internet/Web application. This should be a concise and a non ambiguous statement. Context Analysis: Define the Problem, Solution and Development Domains. Process: Briefly describe the Process Model you plan to use for the development stage of the application. Timeline: (Unlimited Persons) With the particular Process Model in mind and if you had unlimited access to resources, create a timeline that maps specific human resources (eg. designers, programmers, testers, etc.) to tasks (eg. design database structure, code the shopping basket, etc.) and their estimated completion and coordination over time (eg. the shopping basket coding should only commence after the database has been designed and will take 5 days to complete by 2 programmers). Note that you will need to think about the number of people and types of people to use for the application. Timeline:(2 Persons) With the particular Process Model in mind and if you had only access to two persons who had the necessary skills to complete the application, create a timeline that maps the specific human resources and skills (eg. Person1:designer, Person2:programmer, Person1and2:testers, etc.) to tasks(eg. design database structure, code the shopping basket,etc.) and their estimated completion and coordination overtime (eg. the shopping basket coding should only commence after the database has been designed and will take 10 days to complete by Person 2). Note that you will need to think about the skill sets of the two persons and specify what tasks they can complete for the application. Timeline:(3 Persons) With the particular Process Model in mind and if you had only access to three persons who had the necessary skills to complete the application, create a timeline that maps the specific human resources and skills (eg. Person1:designers, Person2:programmer, Person1and2and3:testers, etc.) to tasks (eg. design database structure, code the shopping basket, etc.) and their estimated completion and coordination over time (eg. the shopping basket coding should only commence after the database has been designed and will take 10 days to complete by Person2). Note that you will need to think about the skill sets of the two persons and specify what tasks they can complete for the application. Resource Inventory: Determine which resources you need for the application including Hardware, Software, Databases, Third Party Services, etc. ## Platform Project Costing: Determine the approximate cost of each resource and therefore the overall cost of the Project.
