I have a script that i used to post tweets on twitter.
The purpose of the script- When people follow the account it puts them into the Mysql database. Every time a cron job runs it looks at every follower and checks their followers count. If their followers reach a new milestone such as 100,200,300 etc it will send a new tweets saying "@randomname Congratulations you have reached 100 followers!
This script works fine except that sometimes the script times out with twitters api. Therefore it would bring me the error code 'Followers cannot be fetched'.
This script was then optimised so that if this was the case it would carry on from where it was interrupted. I.e it would start off from page 19 of 174 and carry the cron job from there.
My problem now is that it only goes up to page 101 of 179. It was working fine up last weekend when it stops at 101. With new users everyday this means that the older followers do not get their tweets.
I am looking for someone with experience with the twitter api who can come up with a solution to solve this problem. I will choose my bid when i have spoken to the bidders to make sure they have full knowledge and understanding of the problem, and have an idea of what to do to solve this.
The script works on my linus server using php5.0. I use mysql5.0. If you have questions please feel free to ask.
