My coder needs help with making a file run inmemory only . He has accomplished this in nt 2k and xp but not 95 98 ME and you guys seem pretty sharp maybe you will help.. Many have ask for clarification her so I am posting this additional information: The program should open an archive file. Read an executable file from it and launch it. It has permission to access the drive only for reading from the zip file. This means you cannot extract the file to a temporary place on the drive and launch it from there. The basic idea is to load the exe file in to memory. Access the PE file information to make addresses valid, create a new process and run the file from the memory in the newly created process. Creating a new process should not use any file from the drive. This means you cannot create a process using a file from drive and then modify it's data to put there code from the loaded file. Any other solution that start the file in memory without using the drive (except for reading the file from the zip) are welcome. I am sure that only .000000001 % of all programmers he world over can do this but all are welcome to try it ..:)) Tina
