Web Application, database driven (either [url removed, login to view] MS SQL or PHP/MySQL, or other) with the purpose of tracking daily sales and simple inventory data of distributors of a company.
It should have the following Elements: 2 Types of users: Administrator and Regular User. Administrator has unlimited access to all distributors' information and sets the rights and permissions of each Regular user. The Regular User can only see and modify selected distributors' information.
First Screen: User and Password Validation Screen.
Upon Entry: Second Screen Shows a list of all distributors, which can be filtered by City, State or Sorted Alphabetically, etcetera.
Once the link of a distributor has been clicked: Third Screen Displays the distributor's sales and inventory information corresponding to that day.
That information is composed of 25 Fields (some numerical and some text fields). Example of some fields which the distributor info page would contain: Total Sales of the day: 12,000 -Highest Selling Model: DC45 -Lowest Selling Model: DC 75 -Total Product AX inventory: 25 -Total Product SZ inventory: 88 Etcetera, Etcetera.
We need the capability of generating reports. By Distributors, and by Period of Time. For example: Weekly Total Sales Report of 5 Selected Distributors. We need the report to generate bar charts and Pie charts for certain fields.
Note: Each distributor's information will be input manually and updated everyday by the distributor via web.
For if it wasn't clear before:
All the records are updated daily, thus we have 30 different set of records each month stored in the database.
And with that information we need to generate dynamic database reports: By Distributors and By PERIOD OF TIME. For example a report, concerning 2 fields of information of all distributors from may 5 /2005 to may 25/2005 would be something like this:
Report All distributors from May 5 2005 to May 15 2005
Total Sales: 300 (In this case it adds the field total sales of all distributors from may 5 to may 15, which gives a total of 300)
Highest Selling Model: Corvette (in this case the operation is an statistical mode, which is a string of characters which repeats the most in all distributors.)
-I mention the need of generating BAR CHARTS or PIE CHARTS in the reports, as certain fields can provide de data needed for such charts.
