Contact Manager Testing and Issue Documentation

Synopsis ??" We have an intranet contact manager that has many issues. It is written in a combination of asp (not asp.net), JavaScript, and MS SQL. At one point all the items in the contact manager functioned, but due to system changes, functional changes, programmer errors, etc., there are many items of our virtual office contact manager that are not working or functioning correctly. Additionally, contacts saved by users of the system are mysteriously disappearing after being edited by management. The issue documenter will try to find a pattern to define this “mysterious data loss?? occurs.

This bid request is for fully testing the existing contact manager, finding a pattern to define the “mysterious data loss?? mentioned above and then clearly documenting all issues as a follow-on RAC bid request to fix said issues. Most of the documentation will be to correct existing issues, but there may be a minor amount of new system design to make the program logically work. The contact manager includes a calendar in the left side-bar and all actions accessible under the following main menu items: CONTACTS, TO-DO, GOALS & MANAGE. . It also includes a special login that goes to a special pending contact approval screen. It does not include main menu items: EARNINGS, REPORTS, SALES & REGIONS.

Interested bidders will be assigned a user name and password to our test system so that you may view the system to be tested and documented prior to bidding. Please request the password.

The successful bidder on this request will be given preference when selecting the winning bidder on the following RAC bid request prepared by this bid request.

In the future, we also plan to recompletely reprogram this application in ASP.NET and MS SQL via RAC bid. The successful bidder that performs well on this request will be given preference.

## Deliverables

The testing and issue documentation will be delivered in two phases: 1) The portion of the contact manager that specifically deals with adding, editing, listing and viewing contacts which are under the main menu item 'CONTACTS'. I have a current RAC project that is intended to correct the issues to this portion of the contact manager. This deliverable is to do final testing for that project. For the issues that are identified, additional testing will be required once identified issues are corrected until all such issues are corrected. 2) All other portions of the contact manager. The documentation will fully describe all issues in a format that can be understood by another RAC programmer of reasonable competence. If the follow-on RAC bidders have questions about the issues documented, the winner of this bid request will answer the questions as necessary. There is no coding required by this bid, primarily issue documentation and possibly minor system design details to make the system function smoothly.
