I have an existing site that is used to register people for events. The end user side has a section where specific questions can be asked in a survey type of format.
The questions are set up on the administrative side and I want to enhance the manner in which I can create new questions and update existing ones. I have attached an image of what a few rows of the current "questions" database looks like. The way it works for an individual question is that the end user script reads all of the rows that pertain to that question. You can create dropdown menu items, text fields, text areas, check boxes and radio buttons. Headings and notes can be added, all of which are controlled by the rows in the database.
My current manner is very cumbersome (basically editing a table) and you need to understand how the script works in order to correctly get things to work.
What I envision is a much more user-friendly method for an administrator to create questions. I would like to use Ajax scripting so that new questions can be inserted and edited without a full page refresh. Then to move things around on the page, I would like to use something similar to the jQuery UI draggable ([url removed, login to view]).
The formatting and style will follow a provided template.
I'm looking for someone who can create the admin user interface that will allow for the following:
1. Read records from existing database and display the question title on the screen.
2. Include an "edit" option for existing questions to change details.
3. Ability to create a new question to be recorded into the db.
4. Use of the jQuery dragable to move and reorder questions, and have that new sort order saved to DB.
5. Work with the format as shown on the attached file.
6. Create a brand new questionnaire from scratch (basically what you're doing in #3 above, but without existing questions).
I have attached a detailed database listing that shows how end user side works and how the database fields are laid out. I will set up a simple working site that I will provide to potential programmers to look at the style sheet and simple code prior to making a decision.
A good working model for the look/feel for how I want this to work is SurveyMonkey.com.
In order to interact in real time, I am also looking to work with someone who is available for interaction during at least five of the standard United States East Coast business hours. East Coast is (GMT -4) and standard business hours for me are 0900 to 1800 (9am to 6pm). I will dialog via MSN Messenger, email or Skype Chat.
