I have 10+ years experience as a professional photographer in NYC/NJ metro area and have done photography work for magazines, newspapers, fashion designers, and small businesses as well as private clients. My husband relocated to Colorado last year, so I packed up my photography business and brought it with him. I am a member of the PPA (Professional Photographers of America) with professional equipment, studio lighting (I'm not a mom-with-a-camera amateur who relies on the sun to light my portraits--Colorado may be sunny 300 days a year, but the East Coast isn't, so I am an expert at lighting), and fully insured. My service fee includes a phone or Skype consult to get to know one another (you NEVER want to book a photographer online if you're not going to speak to them before the session--you should be comfortable with your photographer and not meeting them for the first time when you sit down for a portrait!) and talk about your needs for the image (You mentioned LinkedIn. Do you have other uses in mind for your portrait? What industry are you looking for a job in or currently employed in? Details like that can make a huge difference in how your portrait turns out!) I even provide consultations on clothing choices during our fifteen minute phone/Skype consultation.
The portrait session should take less than an hour, and for a professional headshot, turn around time for a digital proofs is 24 hours. Upon receipt of final payment, I'll deliver the high-resolution image.
