Digital Media Instructional Technology Services in partnership with First Century Evangelist Group is in search for Instructors at our San Jose, CA location. DMITS mission is to tackle the obstacles that hinder the right-path youth, veterans, seniors and LBGTQ youth through media and technology education allowing them to express themselves, cultivate leadership and knowledge, uplift and foster respect for all.
Job Title: Photography Instructor
Reports to: Program Manager
Work Location: San Jose, CA
Compensation: $[url removed, login to view] per hour
Employment Status: Part-Time, (20 Hours per Week, Mon-Thurs)
Duties may include assignments in any Photography course, including, but not limited to: Photojournalism, Portrait Photography and Basic Photography.
Assignments for Part-time Photography Instructor include:
• Develop and teach courses in photography, photojournalism and/or related media photography.
• Supervise students in the creation of DMITS publications as assigned.
• Work with lead teacher as assigned.
• Attend department meetings; work with Program Manager; and adhere to DMITS policies.
• Should be technology literate.
Requirements & Desirables:
Sensitivity to, and understanding of, the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds.
Background in PhotoShop.
AS or Bachelor's degree in Photography or Media Arts or at lease 3 years experience as a professional photography. Have extensive experience with analog and digital photographic techniques, and who are well versed in contemporary critical theory.
Preferred for all areas:
• Teaching Experience
• Experience with Presentation Technology.
