Apache2 Config: modrewrite or proxy

I have on a machine running an usual OpenSuse 10.3 Apache (with passwort protection) on Port 80 ([url removed, login to view]) on Server ALPHA, and a search engine on port 8020 (without password protection). The server stands behind a router - with Portforwarding goes from externally 8030->80 to the Server ALPHA. The reasion is: access to the search server via [url removed, login to view] AND password protection. The solutions lies somewhere within the apache configuration, Rewrite ruiles and mod_proxy. Please find it out. For an expert a very small thing.
