Objective: Adjust an existing perl script which opens text file X and extracts lines Y through Z
Currently I am using the attached pl script but on some text file it doesn't work right. In these cases it stops before reaching line Z, and the process doesn't finish so I have to manually terminate it. Please fix this.
The script is called from the command line with "[url removed, login to view] x y z". Currently the script doesn't accept to specify the path of file x but I want to specify x with the complete path to the file, so I can keep [url removed, login to view] in a different folder. The output file should be saved in the same folder of the input file.
The script has to run as fast as possible. It will be used for files up to a few GB size. Please make sure it runs on such files without trouble.
Please send me a private message which states how long you need to complete the project. I only consider bids with a private message. Right after accepting your bid I will send an escrow. You agree to give up the project and release the escrow if you cannot complete the project in the time frame you stated.
Looking forward to the script!
