I have a medical software company that needs to update the sftaware for its subscribers. He wants that when the person goes to the website, the website can recognize the version of the program he/she has and to automatically suggest to download the new version. He has payed and free subscriptions, so he also wants the website to know if its a free version or payed. I am a designer, not much of a programmer, so I would like to find someone that can do this and other similar jobs. I don't know his budget, he is actually shopping around for people that can do this, but the guy's niece is my brother's girlfriend, so I got the first chance to come up with it, so what ever appears on the budget line at the bottom is a guess.

This bid includes the cost of the update webpage, ability to detect installed version, verification of subscription, and webpage to push newer version to client. A sample of the program will be needed to verify how to check for current version. If source is available (can sign NDA), ability to update may possibly be added to the program itself.

Its an easy task, we can easily check current version of software installed and find out corresponding update/patch for it by using ASP/Windows Scripting. I am sure about this and i mean it. Best regards from Ravi..
