I need a schematic review and component optimization for a circuitry I designed.
The board features a PoE+ connection, Ethernet Phy, battery charger, battery gauge and protection, microcontroller, Buck converter, and LDO. It is powered by a 2s4p battery pack (Li-Ion) or PoE+. The battery pack is charged over PoE+. A block diagram can be found attached.
The board has a high component count: >300 components whereas 150 of them are unique.
The goal of the project is to perform a schematic review and optimize the schematic for costs and lower component count. Optimizations should include:
- unifying of resistor and capacitor values
- optimizing input/output capacitors for the converts
- unifying MOSFETs
- checking for cheaper alternatives for the most expensive parts
Once the project is agreed, I will provide full schematic and BOM. Also I will attached a little questionair with general questions to this topic.
The deliverable should be a report (e.g. simple excel, word or powerpoint) with the suggested optimizations and calculations.
Note: Good knowledge required on battery chargers, DC/DC converter, PoE PDs.
