I’m preparing two Mikrotik CR2004-1G-12S+2XS RouterOS 7 border routers and a CRS354-48G-4S+2Q+RM switch for high-availability service at a small datacentre POP. The routers must advertise and learn routes through both eBGP (to upstreams) and iBGP (between the pair), while VRRP provides seamless fail-over for our public gateway IPs. The switch will handle all layer-2 duties, so I need clean VLAN separation, dedicated VLANs for each department plus a locked-down management VLAN that only the routers and monitoring servers can reach. Inter-VLAN routing stays on the routers; the switch stays purely in bridge mode with 802.1Q trunks for uplinks and access (untagged) ports to connect clients/servers. I’ve already racked the gear and upgraded everything to ROS 7.14. What’s missing is a production-ready configuration, documented and tested. Deliverables • RouterOS exports for both routers and the switch, ready to paste in • Test plan results proving: – VRRP fail-over within two heartbeat intervals – eBGP sessions re-establish after fail-over without manual intervention – iBGP stays stable with proper full-mesh – Departmental VLANs reach the internet; management VLAN stays isolated Initially I will require the configurations to paste into the devices and test. Followed by an agreed mutually convenient scheduled change window where you can walk me through any issues using SSH or Winbox. I have attached a text file detailing the setup required with actual IP addresses obfuscated.
