Search Engine/PageRank

• The implementation of a general search engine that uses the titles of N number

of web pages. To answer the query, the search engine finds all the web pages

whose titles contain all the query words.

• This search engine needs to be able to distinguish query words based on Case

Sensitivity. (ex: the query “mobile phone with 3g, wifi, BLUETOOTH and dlna”

should give different results compared to “mobile phone with 3g, wifi, bluetooth

and dlna”).

• The PageRank algorithm must be implemented to the developed search engine.

The output window should have two partitions with the newly created PageRank

implemented search engine on the left portion and a search engine without

PageRank on the right portion, to show the difference between them

• After showing the first, we want to demonstrate the increase of the PageRank

of a particular webpage. Like say, after getting the query results for the word

“university”, we want to implement any kind of “PageRank increment” method

that increases the PageRank of a particular web page. So that, the web page

listed in the 8th place after implementing this method should move to the 4th

place when the same query “university” is searched again.
