I already have a working n8n flow that places simple trades, but I now need to roll out what I call “Opción B”: full state management, support for complex orders, and a reliable kill-switch. The integration must talk directly to the Charles Schwab API, so proven experience with that specific broker is essential. What’s left to build • State logic: every open position and pending order must be tracked continuously, with status updates saved to my PostgreSQL instance and pushed to Telegram in real time. • Complex orders: the flow has to create, monitor, and — when required — cancel OCO (One Cancels Other) orders using Schwab’s REST endpoints. • Kill switch: a single flag in n8n (manual boolean, plus an optional webhook) should immediately cancel every open order and stop new ones from being submitted until re-enabled. Acceptance criteria 1. A single n8n workflow file (JSON) I can import that contains the new nodes, credentials placeholders, and clear notes. 2. Successful placement, modification, and cancellation of an OCO order on a Schwab paper-trading account, demonstrated via screen share or recorded session. 3. Kill-switch toggling proves that no further orders are accepted while the flag is off. 4. State table in PostgreSQL shows live updates; Telegram receives the same events within 2 seconds. 5. Brief markdown README outlining environment variables, Schwab auth flow, and any rate-limit considerations. Tech stack in play: n8n (latest), Node-based custom functions, PostgreSQL, Telegram Bot API, Charles Schwab REST. If this aligns with your Schwab and n8n expertise, let’s schedule a quick call so I can hand over the current flow and credentials stubs.

Hi, n8n workflows look simple to set up but reliability, error handling, and edge cases are what separate a workflow that runs once from one you can actually depend on in production. Our approach: • Map out the full workflow — triggers, logic branches, outputs, and failure handling • Build with retry logic and error notifications so nothing silently breaks • Test with real-world data, including edge cases • Document the workflow clearly for non-technical maintenance Portfolio reference: https://www.freelancer.com/portfolio-items/11349812-web-scraping-automation Quick questions: 1. Which tools need to be connected? 2. Triggered by an event, a schedule, or both? Open a chat and let's map the workflow together. ~ Rajesh

Hello, I can enhance your existing n8n Schwab trading workflow to support full state management, OCO order handling, and a robust kill-switch mechanism with real-time PostgreSQL + Telegram synchronization. The solution will integrate directly with the Charles Schwab REST API, ensuring reliable handling of order placement, modification, cancellation, and status tracking. I will design a persistent state layer in PostgreSQL to continuously sync open positions and pending orders with event-driven updates. Complex OCO logic will be implemented with safe node-based orchestration inside n8n, including failure handling and retry controls. A global kill-switch (manual + webhook-triggered) will instantly halt all trading activity and cancel active orders securely. The final deliverable will include a clean, importable n8n JSON workflow, full environment documentation, and a demo validating all acceptance criteria. I will ensure low-latency updates to Telegram (<2s) and maintain strict reliability under API rate limits and trading edge cases. Warm regards, Harpreet Singh

Hi, Good Day What you already have is essentially a working execution layer — what’s missing now is a proper stateful trading control system around it. The real challenge in this phase isn’t placing trades, but ensuring consistency, traceability, and safety across all order states in real time. I can help extend your existing n8n workflow into a more robust “Opción B” architecture with full state management, reliable order tracking, and strict execution controls via Charles Schwab’s REST API. My approach would focus on: • State Management Layer Each order (open, pending, filled, cancelled) tracked in PostgreSQL with continuous sync and event-based updates. • OCO Order Logic Structured handling for creation, monitoring, and cancellation of One-Cancels-Other orders with proper edge-case control via Schwab endpoints. • Kill-Switch System A global execution flag (n8n + optional webhook trigger) that instantly halts all new order submissions and cancels active orders safely. • Real-Time Event Pipeline Telegram notifications + PostgreSQL updates synchronized within low-latency event flow for full visibility. • Safety & Idempotency Controls Prevent duplicate submissions, partial state desync, and ensure recovery after workflow interruptions. Once I review your current n8n flow, I can map exactly how to integrate this without rebuilding your existing logic from scratch. Cheers, M Adeel,

Hi, this project to enhance an n8n workflow for Charles Schwab trading automation requires precise state management and order orchestration, which aligns with my experience in financial API integrations. The primary engineering risk is ensuring reliable real-time state synchronization and fail-safe order cancellation under variable API conditions. I usually design systems with clear separation between state ingestion, order orchestration, and notification layers to maintain consistency and responsiveness. In the NYSE Day Trading Bot Development project, I built robust trading modules integrating market data and order APIs, ensuring precise control over order lifecycle and risk management. For this Charles Schwab integration, I recommend modularizing the state tracking from the kill-switch logic to isolate failure domains and facilitate rapid recovery. While this project does not involve LLMs, I emphasize rigorous error handling and monitoring to maintain operational integrity under all conditions. Systems I build are production-ready with clean documentation and maintainability for long-term use. I can start by outlining the retrieval and update pipeline for order states and mapping the kill-switch control flow within n8n. Thanks, Hercules

Hello, To handle Opción B, we need to elevate your current n8n flow into a resilient, state-driven trading engine. Having worked extensively with Charles Schwab’s REST API, I know firsthand that maintaining continuous state management requires strict token refresh handling and precise formatting of the nested orderStrategies arrays for OCO execution. I will implement a custom n8n code node to compute the exact deltas between Schwab's positions endpoint and your PostgreSQL instance, ensuring deduplicated updates hit Telegram well under your 2-second threshold. For the kill switch, a global boolean check will sit at the very entry point of the workflow, instantly blocking new submissions and routing existing active order IDs through a quick cancellation loop. Looking forward to your reply. Best, Niral

You’re building a kill-switch and state management layer for Charles Schwab’s OCO orders in n8n—with real-time PostgreSQL logging and Telegram alerts. Here’s the approach: - State engine: A dedicated n8n sub-workflow will poll Schwab’s /orders endpoint every 5 seconds (adjustable), reconcile against PostgreSQL, and push diffs to Telegram via sendMessage. State transitions (e.g., PENDING → FILLED) trigger immediate updates. - OCO logic: Custom JavaScript nodes will chain Schwab’s POST /accounts/{id}/orders for the primary leg and POST /orders/{id}/cancel for the contingent leg, with retry logic for 429s. Order IDs and dependencies are stored in PostgreSQL to survive workflow restarts. - Kill switch: A global isActive variable (toggleable via n8n UI or webhook) wraps all order nodes in an IF condition. When false, pending orders are canceled via DELETE /orders, and new submissions are blocked with a 403 response. I’ll deliver the workflow JSON, a 10-minute demo covering all acceptance criteria, and the README in 7 days. The €1,050 budget covers the scope as written; we’ll refine the figure once we walk through the current flow’s edge cases and Schwab’s rate-limit behavior in our call.

Hi, I read through your plan for expanding the n8n Schwab bot and the jump to full state management, OCO logic, and a true kill‑switch is exactly the kind of upgrade I’ve done before. On a prior Schwab automation project, I built an OCO orchestration layer that pushed order states into PostgreSQL and mirrored them to Telegram with sub‑second delay. I see the real complexity here in keeping Schwab’s async order statuses correctly synchronized across n8n, your DB, and Telegram without race conditions, especially when an OCO partially fills or cancels unexpectedly. I’ll map the workflow into a single importable JSON, implement custom-node logic for OCO creation and monitoring, and wire PostgreSQL updates so every state transition fires a Telegram event. The kill‑switch will wrap the submission logic with a hard boolean gate plus a webhook override. Before finalizing, I’ll verify the paper-trading endpoints, rate‑limit windows, and how your current auth refresh token flow is structured. I can deliver the workflow cleanly and demonstrate the OCO cycle in a recorded session. Thanks, John allen.

Hey there! Trading automations like this usually fail when state isn’t tracked correctly, OCO logic isn’t handled atomically, or the kill-switch isn’t truly enforced across all flows — I’d solve this by building a reliable state-driven system with strict control over order lifecycle and execution. I’ve spent over 10 years working with automation systems, APIs, and real-time workflows, including n8n-based pipelines and financial integrations, so handling order logic, state sync, and fail-safe mechanisms is something I’m very comfortable with. For your “Option B”, I’d implement a centralized state layer (PostgreSQL) that tracks every order and position, with n8n nodes updating and reacting to state changes in near real-time. OCO orders will be handled with proper lifecycle management (create → monitor → cancel safely), and I’ll ensure all API interactions with Schwab are idempotent and respect rate limits. The kill-switch will be enforced globally — both as a manual flag and webhook — instantly stopping new orders and canceling active ones. Telegram notifications will be event-driven to stay within your 2-second requirement. You’ll get a clean, importable n8n workflow, clear documentation, and a system that’s safe, predictable, and production-ready. I communicate clearly and move fast, so we can get this working reliably without unnecessary complexity.
