Linux Sysadmin Administrator

An Hong Kong based company is looking for FULL TIME Linux Sysadmin Administrator to join our virtual team of hackers.
We absolutely need someone in Americas to take over our Sysadmins in Asia.
You can work from anywhere, such as your home. Digital nomads are welcome.
Requirements:
- You enjoy challenges
- Functional english reading and writing
- Motivation to work alone in a virtual team
- Feel responsible of what you’re doing
- You don't ask for permission but ask for forgiveness
- You can fill a timesheet
- Can Google
- Good at troubleshoot sysadmin related problems
- Basic TCP/IP
- Good understanding of web
- Can read PHP code (to sometimes troubleshoot issues, PHP app in phaseout)
- Want and can learn by yourself
- Knowledge of Git and Github-like process such as branching and Pull-Request
- Search first ask later

Examples of your responsabilities:
- Keep an eye on 30 servers with existing monitoring software
- Write monitoring plugin and check in Python or bash
- Open issues
- Process internal support requests (new access, deploy new VMs, DB dump and restore)
- Process external support requests (from a limited number of clients)
- Write salt formulas to deploy open source software
- Automate everything
- Research and develop some solution to problems using open-source software
- Improve support process
Note:
- NO PART TIME. If you want need than a jobs, let us know we'll hire for all your shifts.
- Unless you need to be micromanaged (which we don't), you need to communicate: update tickets you worked on, send email if something happens.
- As you'll be part of a virtual team and you'll be in an opposite timezone as your manager: communicate is the most important thing you'll have to do. Don't disapears for a day without warning the rest of the team! You're on support we count on you! We need to work around you availability.
