This is your chance to use code to make a fundemental difference in the lives of people in trouble. As a not-for-profit group we would like to create a donation system that would allow us to post the situations of needy individuals to site visitors. They would then be able to review the situation and if they elected to, make a donation towards the individuals needs. Once the target amount was reached the users situation would show it as fully funded and no longer eligible for additional funding. For example, here is a past case, a woman came to us and had nobody to turn to for funds to bury her recently deceased mother. In this case, using your software, we would allow her to post her story, jpgs or gifs of relevant documents, estimates, etc, a photo of the submitter and then allow individuals that chose to give small amounts a chance to assist her if they feel so inclined. This example story had a happy ending by the way. Donations would be accepted via PayPal and once the PayPal fee was deducted and our small admin charge the remaining funds would be automatically sent to the individual. An admin function to review submitted cases is needed before allowing them to go public on the site. We also need to be able to add or edit the submitted material before posting. Once the target is reached we need the ability to move it to our archive of successful cases and allow those individuals that originally submitted their situation to add a follow-up note of how the kindness of others assisted them. The only limitation on coding is that this will reside on our linux apache server. This project will require close coordination with us since we will be responsible for the implementation, look and feel of the final product. If a submitter decides to end their request early then those funds will return to an administrative pot for redistribution.
