We are a streaming media company in Colombia. We are looking for an Android app developer to create an “app/script” that can be added to the Google Play Store. The app should work with Android 4.x and up.
Here is a detailed description of what the app needs to accomplish and in what order. The app would probably be categorized as a productivity tool because of its ability to “batch install” the .apks. There are 10 .apk files (which we have) that would need to auto install all 10 files. One file is KODI and the others a suite of other Android apps.
Here’s the workflow. The user would land on our download page, or get the app in the Google Play Store. Once this app is downloaded and installed, it would automatically calculate if the needed space is available on the device. If not, would open the applications screen for them to delete the apps needed to allow full download. If yes, it would open a screen asking the user the user to agree to our Terms and Conditions and click the “Accept” box. The next screen would be for them to confirm they want installation of a list of all other apps (pre checked in a list) in the suite. Once installation of our batch installer is confirmed, the app should show all permissions necessary combined from all apps so that the user only has to give one permission for all apps instead of app by app (if possible) permissions. Finally, the app would automatically start the simultaneous download (or one at a time if that’s not possible) of all other apps in the suite.
Once all apps have been properly installed, the script should automatically run the blank KODI app it just installed, then close the app. The app would then open a screen allowing the user to choose one of our builds to automatically install. Then last, (if possible) we would like the setup process to be for the app to self-create a folder on their home screen called “Media” and place all apps from the suite automatically in this folder.
REFERENCE 1: Installing KODI Pre-built Skins.
There is an app called STREaM! (see below APK) that has 68 custom KODI builds and numerous KODI ADDONS. After opening the app the user simply selects the chosen KODI build, a screen pops up and asks to either install it or perform a “fresh install” the build. Within a few minutes, the previously blank KODI has a custom build! We are interested in creating this feature on our app however, only displaying a few of our own custom builds.
In summary, we are looking for a simplified way of batch installing selected .apks. We want the user to make as few actual clicks on their devices as possible. The main reason for the app to appear in Google Play is to be able to facilitate the setup of Android set-top boxes.
If you are interested in working on this project with us, please (a) don’t send us a cut and paste response saying you are qualified for the job, (b) give us your exact cost for creating the app, (c) let us know if some of the features we requested above are in fact possible, (d) tell us how long you need to create, debug, test, and deploy the final version.
Thank you for your interest in our project.
STREaM! Official Site. [url removed, login to view] (APK Attached)
There is an app on the Google Play called STREaM! and this app works in a similar way to what we want. It opens and asks a private code (given on their website) to download specific apps by auto locating their .apks. You enter the code, it pulls the .apk URL and auto downloads and with one confirmation click the INSTALL it installs the app. However, the user must manually input the different app codes for the apps desired. Our app you would create would have the URLs hidden and auto download them from our website folder and install all of our selected suite of apps. Hope this helps.
