We are a HVAC contractor who install air conditioning and ventilation systems in new apartment buildings.
We want to track and measure the performance of our installer staff on construction sites. We need to know Who, When and How Long each item and component is taking to install so that we can identify the best installers and breed some friendly competition between them and increase speed and efficiency.
Basically, the idea is to make this into a game for the installers themselves so that they can compete against one another and see who is the best installer of them all! Points for speed, quality, pictures etc. can be awarded to installer to enable ranking but we can discuss this further as we haven't really worked it all out.
The graphical user interface would contain a drawing that the installers use to install each component where it needs to go. They would be able to click each item on the drawing and then enter the date which it was installed and attach a picture of the works (maybe not required but would be nice). Ideally this would be done on the day that the item was installed.
This would then enable us to track when the item was installed, by whom it was installed and then if we have any defects or warranty issues with this item down the track. By entering this on the day it was done, we can also calculate the average time it took for that person to install each component.
Ideally, this would interface with Autodesk Revit - which is the software we use to create the drawings. It holds information about each component within the software and can also have extra parameters associated with the components as required to track who installed it, when etc. It could also connect to Google Sheets as we can update a spreadsheet and then import it back into Revit.
I have attached a couple of drawings for reference - essentially every single item would be clickable and have a different ID to enable separate tracking.
The idea for making it into a game is to make it fun so that the guys using it want to use it and want to make a game out of it to increase the value they generate for the company.
The most important part of this project is to create an algorithm or Revit addon/plugin which enables the clickable spots on the drawing when imported into the phone/tablet App.
The second most important part is then to use those clickable parts to track the performance of the installer.
