Hi, I’m a control systems engineer with strong experience in MATLAB and Simulink, especially in PID-based system design for academic and practical projects. You need a clear, explainable Simulink model of a robotic arm with PID control, including realistic behavior and results you can confidently present. I’ve done similar university-level projects where both correctness and explanation were equally important. How I will approach this: First, I’ll model a simplified 1–2 DOF robotic arm using correct equations of motion, then implement a PID controller in MATLAB Simulink to control position (joint/end-effector). I’ll tune P, I, and D parameters step-by-step and show system response (overshoot, settling time, steady-state error). I’ll also include realistic effects like friction, load variation, and sensor feedback to improve marks. The final model will be clean, adjustable, and easy to demonstrate. If this fits, we can start with system modelling and PID setup as the first milestone, then finalize simulation and report.

Hi there, as an Electrical Engineering student at UET Taxila with extensive experience in control systems and MATLAB/Simulink, I am perfectly suited to help you with your MECH1320 robotic arm project. I have already completed very similar projects involving high-level control strategies, including a Quadcopter simulation using Cascaded Model Predictive Control (MPC) and Simscape modeling, as well as AI-driven adaptive protection systems for microgrids. My background in designing PID controllers for temperature regulation and bidirectional power converters ensures that I can provide a mathematically sound 1-2 DOF model that accounts for realistic variables like friction and payload disturbances. I specialize in creating clean, "humanized" documentation, so I will provide you with a high-quality .slx file and an 8-page report that breaks down the equations of motion and tuning parameters (P, I, and D) in a way that is easy for you to present in a lab demonstration. I am a highly responsive communicator and will ensure you fully understand every aspect of the simulation, from overshoot analysis to settling time, so you can confidently answer any questions from your instructors.
