In a multi-cell massive MIMO system with L cells, the BS with (M) antennas communicates with active mobile users K in each cell. Existing works have considered symmetrical networks, Example is "Massive MIMO for Maximal Spectral Efficiency: How Many Users and Pilots Should Be Allocated?" however, in this project, I need to simulate the aggregate network performance for asymmetric network with different cell size, different active users, different distribution of active user in each cell. The total spectral efficiency and energy efficiency should be determined. The mathematical fomulation and codes should show how the cell topology is created, the BS (assumed to be in the center of the cell), the active users, the power allocation, the SINR for the uplink and downlink transmission, and intercell interference are calculated. The linear procession MR, ZF and MMSE should be used for precoding and decoding. Also, the effect of pilot contamination should be shown when a frequency resuse factor of 1, 3 and 4 is used. The system parameters should include the radius of the cell, coherence interval, transmit bandwidth, SNR, pathloss model, and transmit power of user terminal and Base station, receiver noise. Also, the result of the symmetric model should be compared with the asymmetric model. The analysis should start a single cell model should be simulated and then multi-cell model.
