Need support from an experienced Manufacturing / Industrial Engineer for an NPI production setup project involving cable harness assembly and box build assembly. Scope of work: * Define tooling required for cable harness line and box build line * Create floor layout for both production lines * Develop PFMEA, process flow, and process map * Line balancing and operator allocation * Work instructions with quality checks * Basic production planning support Project details: * High mix assembly environment * Cable harness includes wire cut/strip/marking, crimping, ferrules, routing, and inspection * Box build includes component installation, wire routing, soldering, torque operations, testing, QC, and packing * Around 8 similar assemblies with shared processes * BOMs, drawings, reference files, and estimated annual volumes will be provided Looking for someone with: * Manufacturing engineering / industrial engineering experience * Experience in cable harness and electromechanical assembly * Knowledge of PFMEA and production flow development * AutoCAD / Visio / layout creation experience preferred * Ability to recommend practical tooling and workstation setup Deliverables: * Tool list * Production floor layout * PFMEA * Process flow / process map * Operator and station recommendations * Work instructions template/examples This is mainly for NPI manufacturing setup and production readiness planning.

I can support the NPI industrialization and production setup for both the cable harness and box build lines. Approach: (1) Review inputs (BOMs, drawings, volumes, variants) and define product/process families. (2) Develop end-to-end manufacturing flow: process flow + process map, routings, and standard times (VA/NVA). (3) Create PFMEA with a linked control plan (critical characteristics, failure modes, detection/prevention controls, recommended actions, gauges/fixtures). (4) Design line and workstation layout: material flow, kitting, QC/test areas, ESD needs, packing, ergonomics and safety; deliver AutoCAD/Visio layouts and alternative concepts (modular cell vs line). (5) Capacity and staffing: line balancing, operator/station allocation, flexibility/cross-training matrix. (6) Tooling definition: detailed tool list for cut/strip/mark, crimp presses + applicators, crimp height measurement, pull test, harness routing boards, torque tools, soldering stations, test fixtures, labeling/traceability. (7) Work instructions: templates + examples with embedded quality checks (self-check, first article, in-process audits) and clear acceptance criteria. (8) Basic production planning support: capacity model, WIP targets, kitting/Kanban, launch readiness (IQC, FAI, run@rate). Deliverables provided in shop-floor-ready formats.
