Magento Upgrade/re-install

My client received the following message from their hosting company..... ---------------------------------------- The 'itsonthe' has been compromised and used to attack other networks. I found and disabled hacks in each of the following directories: /home/itsonthe/public_html /home/itsonthe/public_html/media/catalog/product/cache /home/itsonthe/public_html/downloader/skin /home/itsonthe/public_html/404/skin/default /home/itsonthe/public_html/skin/frontend/default/default /home/itsonthe/public_html/js /home/itsonthe/public_html/404 /home/itsonthe/public_html/downloader Some hacks are quite old, tough most are recent. This is likely the result of a out-dated installation of third-party software, perhaps Magento... and/or one of it's components, modules, widget, etc. As a precaution, I have suspended the account in WHM. The account and its software should be audited and updated accordingly. Your website is now offline. I’ve never seen this sort of thing before, but in essence this is what needs to be done 1. The Magento software needs to be upgraded to the latest version 2. The layout design will also need to be changed as it’s likely it won’t “fit” the latest version of Magento To do all that is a pretty tricky process as you don’t want to lose any data that exists. It’s basically a complete re-build of your website without the need for inputting the data. The most efficient way you could do this is (I can guide you through it) 1. Go and find a design template that you like that will “fit” the latest version of Magento 2. Go and submit an “upgrade” project on a “hire a designer” website and find an expert that can do the job at a reasonable (low) cost There are a many Magento experts out there. The trick is to find one that is capable of doing the work and only charge a few hundred dollars. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- So what i need is a quote for someone to upgrade the current version of magento, or re-install a new version, and re-populate the database with the old products, orders, settings, template etc. Not sure what this task is worth. Offer your lowest best price, i have external quotes for this as well coming in.
